88, of Dundas, passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2021. Roy was born on July 30, 1932 in Toronto and raised in Hamilton. After serving in the Royal Canadian Dragoons, he joined the Hamilton Street Railway and drove buses for 34 years.
In 1953 he met Jean Elsie Ellis and they married in 1959 going on to have three children, Robert Kirk, Christine Hopkins and baby Patrick (deceased). Shortly after retiring in 1994 Roy and Jean moved to Southampton where they were active in the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #155 and made many friends. Roy was predeceased by siblings Joe and Marie. He is survived by Jean, Robert and Christine, along with grandchildren Lucy, Jeremy and Caitlyn. Also by extended family, including Jennifer Hines and son Christopher Hines.
There will be no services in accordance with his wishes and cremation has already taken place. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Royal Canadian Legion.
Final thanks to the excellent staff of Chartwell Georgian retirement home in Dundas and St. Joseph’s Villa where he spent his final days surrounded by love.
