Albertina FANTINATTO

Albertina FANTINATTO

FANTINATTO, Albertina May 12, 1932 – September 7, 2018 Passed away peacefully at the age of 86 years on September 7, 2018.

Loving wife of Angelo Fantinatto for 60 years, cherished mother of Miriam (Ed) and Robert (late Leesa) and proud Nonna to Aidan (Felicity), Liam, Quinn, Matthew and Alexander. Albertina is survived by her two sisters Sandra (Tony) and Maria (late Mario) and many nephews and nieces. Albertina was born in Voreppe Grenoble, France in 1932, moved to Italy in 1945, lived in and cherished her time in Zurich, Switzerland before immigrating to Canada in 1957. An adventurous spirit who loved life, languages and took great pleasure in telling a joke and sharing a “few laughs”. Generous in spirit as well as in action, she spent her retirement years volunteering at the Villa Leonardo Gambin, serving coffee/tea, knitting hats for the residents and sewing for her grandchildren. Tina had “hands of gold” – she was a gifted seamstress, an accomplished knitter and needlepoint artist; she was generous with her work and believed in being kind, always. She lived a life without pretense and treated everyone well.

It is this character trait that made her loved by all she met. We want to thank the compassionate caregivers at Casa Dolce Casa and Central LHIN who supported her daily needs and made her final days comfortable. We would like to also thank Dr. H. Borenstein, Dr. V. Maida and Dr. B. Furer, her family physician, for a lifetime of care.

A celebration gathering will take place on September 15, 2018 from 2-5 p.m. at Bernardo Funeral Home, 855 Albion Road, Etobicoke.
