ALMA FERGUSON

ALMA FERGUSON

FERGUSON, ALMA (nee CLEMENTS) After clocking 94 mostly fun years, and refusing to let Alzheimer’s stop her from making wry jokes, mom passed peacefully with her hand held July 22, 2018 at the O’Neill Centre Nursing Home, Toronto.

She answered the call of duty in a WWII munitions plant, met the RCAF’s Allan Ferguson at a dance and married in 1947. Moved to London in 1960 to run the home front with a newborn son while dad opened the new Eaton’s store there, and they took up ballroom dancing. She made a mean popsicle with Jello and taught values of kindness and equality.

Predeceased by Allan (2014), sisters Marion and June and brothers Ed and Bill. She leaves son Rob (Kristin), daughter T’Hayla and granddaughter Kate. Heartfelt thanks to the loving O’Neill Centre nurses and caregivers and the unit 8B staff at Toronto Western Hospital after a recent stroke.

Memorial service 11 a.m., July 27th, Pine Hills Visitation Centre, 625 Birchmount Rd., Scarborough. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
