MASSEY, Auréade Auréade Massey (nee Girard) passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Hamilton on Sunday, January 24, 2021.
She was in her 78th year. She was the beloved wife of John, and of the late Ivan Massey (2005), and was the dear daughter of Gabe Girard and the late Auréade Girard. She is survived by brother, Paul Girard (Miriam), sister, Anne Girard-Mckennirey, (Shawn), sister-in-law, Diane Girard, and her nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Stephanie, John Paul, Jill, Rachael, and Christopher.
She was predeceased by her brother, Marc Girard. Auréade was a generous, gregarious person who loved; above all else, time spent sharing good food, good conversation and good stories. She will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by her friends and family alike.
We are grateful to the staff at Chartwell Willowgrove LTC Residence and particularly those in the Scenic Woods community. Their compassionate care and kindness will never be forgotten. Cremation has occurred. Given current COVID-19 restrictions, a graveside memorial and interment will take place at Park Lawn Cemetery in Toronto at a later date, to be announced.
