Avio Fernando Bucci

Avio Fernando Bucci

With saddened hearts, we announce the passing of our father on January 24, 2021 at Hamilton General Hospital, in his 91st year. Born in Gagliano Aterno, Italy to Maria (nee Corsini) and Torquato Bucci. Predeceased by his dear wife Jean (nee Clark). Lovingly remembered by his daughters Marisa Bucci and her husband Todd Cosens, Angela Dawe, Diana Fuller and her husband Roger. Proud Nonno of Elise. Predeceased by his brother Delio.

Missed by nieces, nephews and cousins. After learning a trade as an auto mechanic, Avio emigrated to Canada when he was 19 years old. The “King of Cannon Street” provided loyal service to his community at Bucci Shell Station for 49 years. Avio was a soccer player and drummer in his younger days. He continued to love watching soccer, listening to band music and enjoying good food and wine. Heartfelt thanks to the staff at Villa Italia and to his caregivers while he was at home.

Much appreciation to the friends and relatives who provided support over the years. Due to current restrictions, the funeral service will be private. A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date. Memorial donations to the Sons of Italy Charitable Corporation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
