BULLOCK, Margaret Jean

BULLOCK, Margaret Jean It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Jean Bullock (née Torrance), on November 11, 2018 in her 88th year.

Daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grand- mother, learner, teacher, leader, artist, feminist, traveler and true friend. Marg was predeceased by her brother Robert Torrance, and her son Michael Bullock (MaryEllen). Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 67 years, Reg Bullock, and her children, Gaye (Tom), Leslie (Mike), Greg (Dodie), Murray (Carolyn). Proud grandmother of Kyle, Jason, Spencer, Mallory, Mitchell, Natasha and Curtis. Great-grandmother to Nathan, Mckayla and Jacob.

Marg was educated as a teacher and taught at various schools in Burlington. She was elected as a public school trustee in Burlington in 1980, and served for 15 years, before retiring. A lifelong learner who thought in broad liberal terms, where human rights and religion were concerned. Marg and Reg received an award from the Aldershot Community Honour Roll in 2017, as a couple. Together, they made life a little bit better for others in their Burlington and Aldershot community.

There will be a Celebration of Marg’s life at East Plains United Church, 375 Plains Rd. E., Burlington, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 17th. Cremation has taken place.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Joseph Brant Hospital.

Perhaps you called or smiled or whispered a sincere prayer. Perhaps you sent flowers or a token of care. Perhaps you spoke the kind words that only dear friends say. Perhaps you were not there at all, just thought of us that day. Whatever you did to console our hearts, we are eternally grateful. Whatever the part, we thank you. – The Bullock family
