CAMPBELL, Donald Joseph New Waterford, NS We the family, regret to announce the passing of “Donnie” on March 8th at the QEII Health Sciences Center.

Born August 7, 1949 in Hamilton, Ontario to parents Jane and Frank (Smokey) Campbell. Donnie worked at Dofasco for 30 years. After his retirement, he retired to Cape Breton. Donnie is survived by his beloved wife, Wendy (Batchelor); sisters, Mary (Sandro) Spallacci, Sandra (Al) Ford, as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved and was very proud of. Also, his long time friend, Dave Blair of Ancaster is left to mourn. Besides his parents, Donnie was predeceased by his sister, Judy, and brothers, Frank and John. Donnie was an avid sports fan and loved hockey and baseball plus playing pool with his buddies.

As per Donnie’s wishes he has donated his body to Dalhousie School of Medicine. There will be no visitation or funeral service. An open house to celebrate his life will be held at Friday, March 15th from 4-6 p.m. at St. Leonard’s Parish Center on Convent Street, New Waterford.

Donations may be made to the QEII Health Sciences Center, The Parish of Saint Leonard, or a charity of one’s choice.
