CHARNISH, Josephine After a rich and full life, Josie passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre, Brantford in her 94th year.

Predeceased by her husband Peter (1990). Cherished mother of Ted (Cindy) of Brantford and Barry (Valerie) of Toronto. Devoted grandmother of Jennifer Currie (Ian), Michael Charnish (Erin), the late Laura Charnish (1982), Courtney Charnish, Peter Charnish, and Joseph Charnish (Shannon), and great-grandmother of Alex and Sophia Currie, Zachary and Benjamin Charnish, and Lorelei Charnish. Predeceased by her sisters Mary Gryski and Ann Charko, and brothers Frank and Mike Ewasko. Will be greatly missed by her many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

She will be remembered for her love of charitable work. She was a member of the CWL for over 65 years and volunteered with Holy Family Church, St. Francis Xavier Parish, and the Good Shepherd Centre. She was proud of the awards that she won for the recognition of her volunteer work.

Her family wishes to express their utmost thanks to the absolutely amazing care given by Queensview Retirement Home (Paris) and St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre (Brantford).

Friends will be received at DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME , 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Friday from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis Xavier Parish, 304 Hwy. 8, Stoney Creek on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre or Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
