CLARKE, Ivan Donald

CLARKE, Ivan Donald After a short stay at the Juravinski this proud former Hamilton Beach resident passed quietly on April 19 and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Ivan is predeceased by his loving wife Grayce, parents William and Ivy, brother George and sister Lorna. He is survived by his children Brian and Dawn (Norm) and grandchildren Casey (Gregory), Victoria and Michael.

Born in Montreal the family moved to the Beach in the 40’s where he stayed until moving to Stoney Creek in the 70’s. As he would say “If you can’t live on the Beach then Stoney Creek is the next best place.” Learning the steel making game from start to finish he was proud to call himself a Steelworker and retired from Stelco after 39 years of service to enjoy a retirement full of fun and travel. An auto enthusiast and lover of baseball he and his clique from the Beach stayed close throughout their years as he loved to attend all the Beach Reunion get togethers to catch up with friends. Ivan also enjoyed attending gatherings with his retired co-workers from Stelco at their luncheons at The Mandarin and quick trips across the border for wings with the boys. Always trying to improve himself while still working at Stelco he managed to attend McMaster University and obtain his Accounting designation. His friendship and spirit will be missed by all as he begins his new journey.

The family wishes to thank all the physicians and nurses on C3 at the Juravinski.
