Dan RUSSELL

Dan RUSSELL

RUSSELL, Dan We’re thankful for Dan’s presence in our lives. He lived life with the best of intentions, contributing where and when he could. This included teaching and publications on First Nations rights. It involved coaching young people and writing books on baseball designed for parents.

He conscientiously defended human rights in court, while also feeding the birds and donating to everyday folks on street corners. Dan had a big heart. He loved to share time and ideas with people. He especially enjoyed and valued the camaraderie and laughter of his buddies at the YMCA, his home away from home.

These buddies and Dan’s best friends from youth kindly helped him face the trials of his last few years. Dan was also grateful to the other very special people in his life that made their presence felt, including First Nations Elders who held a naming ceremony for Dan not long ago.

Dan died the first day of Spring 2018. He will be missed dearly by his loving family.
