Passed away peacefully at the Brampton Civic Hospital on Thursday, January 10, 2019 in his 91st year. Dear husband for 68 years of Ida, and beloved father of Joanne and Cathy (Wayne) Ash. Proud and doting grandfather of Kyle Ash. Predeceased by his parents Norman and Nellie, and brother Norman. Fondly remembered by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends from multiple generations.
Don had a lifelong love affair with cars and enjoyed a long career in the car business, working for various Toronto-area dealerships, including Belmont Chev-Olds in Weston.
He had an outgoing, personable nature and loved get-togethers of all kinds. He met new people with ease and made friends wherever he went. He loved music, had an encyclopedic memory of song lyrics and loved to sing them out loud and clear. He was always the last to leave any gathering where there was music to be heard and sung and a laugh to be had. Don was devoted to his family and friends and made it his duty to look out for us all.
Family and friends are invited to the Andrews Community Funeral Centre, 8190 Dixie Rd. Brampton for a memorial visitation on Sunday, January 20th from 2-6pm. A celebration of life service will follow on Monday, January 21st at 1 pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial of Donald’s ashes will take place at a later date at Allenwood Cemetery, near Woodland Beach, Ontario.
