FRANCEY, Mary Elizabeth

FRANCEY, Mary Elizabeth I’ve lost my best friend after a tenacious battle with cancer. Mary has had numerous health issues the last few years but never complained and never gave up.

Born August 4, 1953 and passed Monday, April 1, 2019 peacefully at Bob Kemp Hospice. Mary was predeceased by infant son Kevin, mother Ruth, and in-laws Norm and Betty Francey. Survived by husband Ken of 45 years, sister Lynda (Ed), father Art Denton, brother-in-law Bob (Luan), brother-in-law Les, sister-in-law Brenda (Larry), brother-in-law Paul (Karen), as well as nieces and nephews and many long time friends. Mary always enjoyed being with friends and family being entertained or entertaining but not wanting to be the centre of attention.

Mary worked for Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services and retired in June of 2014 after 26 years of dedicated service. When Mary retired she began volunteering at Cancer Assistance Program until her own battle with cancer began in 2017.

As per Mary’s wishes cremation has taken place and interment will be at a later date.

As an expression of sympathy donations to Bob Kemp Hospice or Cancer Assistance Program would be appreciated.

As a last bit of irony Mary’s night shirt when she passed said “Monday’s should be optional.”
