It is with much sadness we wish to announce that Georgina (George) Louise Baillie age 70 of Welland passed away after a short but valiant fight with cancer. She was born in Hamilton on April 3rd 1950. She was married to her husband Gary for 51 years.
The mother of Christine Baillie-Roos, and wife Janine. An especially proud grandmother to Elijah and Tobias who entered this world on September 23rd, 2020. Predeceased by her parents, Wilfred and Eugenia (Yvonne) Moodie. Also leaving behind brother-in-laws Bill (Nancy), Brian (Jude) and sister-in-law Debbie (Rick), her namesake Aunt Georgina Mulvale, Janine’s parents Jerry (Helga) and Janine’s brother Jordan (Steph) as well as numerous cousins here and in the US. Her close friends Flora, Wendy, Doug, Liz, Joanne and so many others, with a special mention to her Red Hat Ladies that George recently became queen of.
We will miss her greatly as George had a big personality and an even bigger laugh. Many fond memories will be held dear to us because of her love of travel, music, movies, live theatre, cooking, and baking which brought so many people together. We are left with a treasure trove of paintings she created with her new found talent. George was a long-time volunteer deliverer with Meals on Wheels in Fort Erie and here in Welland.
Her career as a very well respected computer trainer, technologist was in the insurance/finance industry. This carried over in her personal life with spread sheets that laid out not only the family finances but every trip she organized, planned and booked on this continent and abroad.
