BENTEAU, Gerald “Gerry” 1929 – 2021 We are deeply saddened to announce that Gerald “Gerry” Benteau passed away peacefully, on February 14, 2021, with his wife at his side at Scarborough Centenary Hospital. Gerald was a devoted husband to Doreen, and dear stepfather to both Janet Stuart and John Stuart (Deb) and a loving father-in-law of Angela. Cherished grandpa of Nicole and Hannah Stuart. Gerry was a much-loved brother of Stella Benteau, Bernice Lindemann (Peter) and Helen Mentzer (David). He was predeceased by parents Reginald and Lucy, brothers, Austin and Michael and sisters, Lillian, Leona, Sheila, Marcella and Ursula. He will be forever missed by his many nieces and nephews in Canada and the USA, as well as many friends. Gerry lived a full life and was very active in sports. In later years, he was an avid bridge player in the Insurance League as well as bridge clubs in Toronto and Durham.
Although we know he touched many lives, due to COVID-19 restrictions, his funeral service will be private. In the future when conditions permit, a celebration of life will be held when all who loved him may attend. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
