MATTELIANO, Giuseppina (nee Santangelo)Suddenly on Saturday, July 28, 2018 our mother passed in the arms of her beloved daughter, in her 80th year.
Giuseppina will be reunited with Nicolo, after just 10 short months of his passing and 57 years of marriage. Cherished mother to Giovanna Cabral (Adriano) Eduardo Matteliano (Anita) Vincenzo Matteliano (Corinna). Proud and adored Nonna to grandson Nicolo Cabral. Giuseppina was predeceased by her parents Vincenzo and Croce Santangelo and her dearest family; Salvatore and Graziella Santangelo, Calogero and Nicolina Ruggieri, Francesco and Dina Santangelo, Graziella and Calogero Tinebra, Eduardo and Giovanna Matteliano, Carmela and Rocco Messina, Vincenza and Vincenzo Farrauto. Also missed by Salvatore and Theresa Matteliano, Vincenza and the late Calogero Matteliano, Josie and the late Carmelo Unelli, Vincenzo and the late Concetta Matteliano. Giuseppina will also be missed by many friends and relatives in Canada, the USA, Belgium and Italy.
Giuseppina came to Canada from Racalmuto, Sicily in 1961 and worked many happy years at St. Joseph’s Hospital before retiring in 1995. Nothing brought more joy to our mother than cooking, trips to Acapulco, her cats and being surrounded by those she loved the most.
A special thank you to the hardworking team of doctors and nurses of E3 at the Juravinski Hospital, Dr. DiPaulo, CCAC, Bayshore Nursing and the Palliative Care Team who took such great care of our mother over the past several months.
Visitation at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL 43 Barton St. E Hamilton (near James) on Wednesday and Thursday (August 1 and 2) from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral Mass, date and time to be announced.
