MacLEAN, Gordon Allison With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Gordon Allison MacLean, with Doris and family by his side, on January 8, 2019. He was in his 99th year.

Gordon will be deeply missed by his loving and beloved wife of fifteen years, Doris (Peterkin), and his children Kathy (Michael Wheeler), Bob (Kathy), Dan and Eric (Ginette). A cherished ‘Grampy’, he will be much missed by Michael, Andrew, Jenn, Bryan, Erin, Jesse and Reid, their partners and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his dear wife, Melda (Burdon) and son- in-law, Peter Dixon.

The youngest of seven children of Thomas Allison MacLean and Harriet McInnis, Gordon grew up in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. He enjoyed a long career in the airline industry, with 35 years as an Air Canada employee. In retirement, he was a member of the Pionairs, an avid skater with the Meadowvale Four Rinks Skaters, and a talented woodcarver with the Oakville Woodcarving Guild. He was also a 74-year member of the Tyrian Youth Masonic Lodge, and a faithful member of Trafalgar Presbyterian Church.

Gordon was an inspiration to a large circle of extended family and friends. We will remember his stories, humour and creativity, caring and gentle nature and quiet wisdom.

Friends may attend a Memorial Visitation at the Glen Oaks Funeral Home on Monday, January 14th from 7 to 9 p.m. (3164 Ninth Line, Oakville L6H 7A8). A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 15th, at Trafalgar Presbyterian Church (354 Upper Middle Rd. E., Oakville L6H 7H4 – from Trafalgar, just south of Upper Middle, turn onto White Oaks Blvd., then follow the sign onto Litchfield Rd., entrance at end of street).
