ASHBEE, H. Donald (Don) Passed away peacefully in his 92nd year, in Nanaimo, BC on January 13, 2021.
Beloved husband of almost 70 years to the late Dorothy Goring, he will be much missed by his five children, Peter, Cary, Cindi, Philip, Jennifer, their partners, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Born second son of the late William and Clara Ashbee, he is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Warren Clark, sister Joan Pulford and sister-in-law, Donna Ashbee.
He was predeceased by brothers Garnet, Barry and Lorne. A natural athlete, he attended Humber Heights Consolidated School and Weston Collegiate and Vocational School and excelled at lacrosse (Hall of Fame) and hockey, before moving on to curling and golf. Don and Dorothy headed west to BC in 1954, where he became a successful licensed fisherman for many years.
Cremation has taken place. Don will be reunited with his beloved Dorothy off the West Coast.
