HOLLANDS, HOWARD GEORGE 1929 – 2018 Howard passed away peacefully at home on October 21, 2018 at age 89, surrounded by love.
Born August 19, 1929 in Petrolia, ON to Frank Tallach Hollands and wife Iva, the first twins to be born in Charlotte Englehart Hospital. Leaving his beloved wife of 64 years, Marjorie (nee Anderson). Loving father to Robert (Vicki), John (Kathryn), Brian and Carol (Marc). Devoted Grandfather to Graeme (Sarah), Megan, Robyn, Heather and Brett Loving Uncle to Brian, Susan, Mark, Terry, Deborah, Lisa, Pat and John. Predeceased by his twin brother Harry and older brother Frank (Bud).
Howard attended the Sarnia Collegiate and University of Western Ontario with Graduate studies in Industrial Relations at Queen’s University His career path took him to Edmonton AB, Sydney, NS, Sarnia, ON and finally to Toronto where he joined Seneca College as a Professor with Education for Business and Industry until his retirement.
He loved to golf and curl but his greatest love was sailing. He was a gentle man with a sweet soul. A life well-lived and a life well-loved.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Jubilee United Church, 40 Underhill Drive in Don Mills on Tuesday, November 13th at 1 p.m. with a visitation at the Church the night before from 7-9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jubilee United Church or a charity of your choice
