IELASI, Francesco “Frank”

IELASI, Francesco “Frank” It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Frank, surrounded by his family, after his brief battle with cancer at Juravinski Hospital on April 2, 2019 at age 60.

Having worked at Dofasco for over 34 years, colleagues described him as dedicated, hard working and always ready to lend a helping hand. He loved to keep busy with construction projects and was ready to help no matter the time of day.

Frank has been reunited with his son, Jonathon Frank, and his father, Domenico, but leaves behind his beloved wife of 30 years, Angela Guiliana, and his sons Domenic and Dominic. Frank is survived by his mother, Elisabetta; his siblings Anna (Jesse) Romeo, Paula, Pat and Betty Palmieri. Son-in-law to Guiseppe (Milvia) Mazzuca, brother-in-law to Nicky (Domenic) Rosano, Antonella (Anthony) Percaccio and Patricia Mazzuca. Frank will be fondly remembered by his numerous nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

The family is forever grateful to all who visited and offered support and love through this difficult time. The family sends acknowledgements to all the staff on 3C and Dr. Dan Costello-Ramirez who kept Frank comfortable during his stay. Frank wanted to mention his long time friends, Dr. Chris Ricci, Dr. Deborah Hastings and Dr. Sne for their help in navigating through this process. A special thanks to Frank Sergi from Ohio and his daughter, Michelle, for her expert medical opinion and for being there from the beginning to the end to ensure Frank was comfortable; brother in law, Jesse and Charlie Alfano for driving Frank to chemo; Compare Domenic Sergi and nephew, Ross Romeo, for keeping him well groomed in the hospital; his sister, Betty, for taking time to come to all his consultations; cousin, Domenic Romeo, and his brother, Pat, for taking the night shift watch.
