JEANNE CRAIG RN

JEANNE CRAIG RN

CRAIG, RN, JEANNE (nee BOWDEN) (St. Michael’s Hospital 1940) Passed away peacefully on December 31, 2020. Jeanne (Mom, Nana, Grandma) was born in Toronto, the second child of Frank and Ruby Bowden.

Mom was predeceased by her husband Walter with whom she had 65 years of happiness as well as sisters Margaret, Vanetta and brothers Frank, George and Fred. Mom is survived by her dear brother John (Lois) who Mom always referred to as her “rock”. Mom was predeceased by her daughter Kathryn (Bob) and is survived by David (Jaclyn), Bruce (Sylvianne) and Cyd (Domenic), grandchildren (Gregory, Ian, Monique, Adam, Charlotte, Sean Patrick, Joseph, Alysha and Samantha), great-grandchildren (Vincent, Jeremie, Theodore, Marcus and Margaret) and many much loved nieces and nephews.

What Mom lacked in stature, she more than made up in love, kindness and optimism. Post-war, Mom lived in Winnipeg and Oakville where raising children, church membership, curling, travel and duplicate bridge filled her days. In her 90s, Mom moved to Churchill Place residence in Oakville where she happily settled into her routine of daily walks, bus outings, Scrabble and socializing in the common room. Cyd along with staff at Churchill Place and Comfort Keepers Oakville helped Mom to live a happy, fulfilling life during these years. Three years ago, Mom moved to Seasons Milton Memory Care unit where the loving staff treated Mom with extraordinary compassion and kindness. Mom’s happiness in her final years was due to the staff at Seasons and Cyd who was Mom’s principal caregiver.

There is now a hole in our lives but memories will always be with us. If you wish to make a donation in Jeanne’s memory, please consider the Alzheimer Society of Canada or the charity of your choice. Online condolences and link to the funeral recording at www.koprivataylor.com
