SCHAEFFER, JOHN It is with profound sadness that I announce the passing of John Schaeffer during a Caribbean cruise on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at the age of 72. Beloved husband and best friend of Susan (42 years). Will be lovingly remembered by his brother Dave (Lynn), step-son Rob and nephew Steven along with their families.
John was a long-term member of the Pine Ridge Corvette Club. John was born in Toronto on January 17, 1946. He was a graduate of the University of Western Ontario with a double major in English and Psychology. He worked for 30 years until his retirement with The Canada Revenue Agency in 2015 and will be missed by many of his colleagues and friends.
Visitation will be held at the DeStefano Funeral Home, 1289 Keith Ross Drive, Oshawa (south side of Taunton Road, east of Thornton Road by the Oshawa Airport) 905-440-3595, on Friday, October 19th from 10:00 a.m. until time of the Funeral Service in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
