Despite her insatiable love of life and her valiant battle with cancer, our darling daughter Kaila, at the young age of 26, finally succumbed on January 5, 2021, at 6:30 a.m., surrounded by her loving family. Loving daughter of George and Danielle, devoted mother to 5 year old Dante, and proud older sister to Michelle, Marysia, Zofia and Gwyneth. Beloved granddaughter of Michael and Mary McConnell, and the late George and Doreen Bawden.
Beloved niece of Helene, Leanne, Shawn, Kathy, Karen and Greg, and her godfather Chris. Forever loved by her countless cousins, great-aunts and uncles. Kaila had a kind, generous, beautiful soul that loved to make people laugh and feel comfortable. Always striving for what she considered best and willing to put herself second to others. She was a talented musician who played piano and violin, and sang from an early age.
Kaila spent many years involved with The Hamilton Children’s Choir and lately with the choir of MacNab Street Presbyterian Church. Kaila’s son, Dante, and her sisters were always paramount in her mind. She enjoyed family immensely and loved nothing more than playing boardgames with her sisters and her father. To her very last breath, she displayed bravery, courage and determination overcoming every setback to the best of her ability.
A cremation has taken place. A funeral will be held at a later date.
