Kurt Rasmus

RASMUS: Kurt Charles Passed away suddenly on March 22, 2019 at the age of 48.

Loving husband to Irene (Pollock), devoted father to Callum (Morgan). Son of Beryl Murison (Brian) and the late Richard Rasmus. Son-in-law to William and Pamela Pollock. Brother of Kevin(Lynda), Keith (Cara), Cousin of Roderick(Keiko), brother-in-law to Fiona (Keith) with extended family in South Africa and Australia. Adored Uncle to Laurel, Kyle, Anna, Willow, Elena, Dylan and Hannah. Kurt will be dearly missed by his abundance of close friends, colleagues, Rotarians, teammates and his beloved fur babies.

Kurt made an impact on many peoples’ lives through his uncanny ability to make them feel special. Kurt was however best known for his random acts of kindness. Kurt was born and raised in Scarborough, Ontario. He worked as Asst. Superintendent at Scarboro Golf Club, then moved on as Superintendent at Ballantrae Golf Club. Kurt volunteered as a Firefighter for the Whitchurch Stouffville Fire and Emergency Services. In 2007, he moved to Whitby, changed careers and became a Financial Advisor. He then made a noticeable and undeniable presence in the community with his countless hours of volunteer work. He coached soccer, and was a very involved member of the Rotary Club of Whitby including his role as Co-Chair of the Whitby Gourmet Food Truck Frenzy http://foodfrenzywhitby.ca. He was honoured to represent his employer CIBC as a Pan-Am torchbearer.

His many hobbies included his love of books, playing hockey, golf, volleyball, boating and being an avid Toronto Sports fan. He loved the countless hours he spent watching his Niece and Nephews’ play sports, dance, act etc.

Cremation will take place with a private family service to follow. Arrangements entrusted to OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME. All are welcome to attend the Wake on April 6th at 6pm at the Guild Inn Estate, 201 Guildwood Parkway, Scarborough.
