LEGER, Michael Peacefully at the age of 85 on March 21, 2019 at Ridgeview Long Term Care Home, Stoney Creek, ON.
Michael was born in Port Elgin, NB, and moved to Hamilton after completing his education. He was employed at Stelco’s Frost Works and an active member of the United Steel Workers of America, Local 3561, until his retirement. An avid fisherman, he and Ann, his wife of 63 years, enjoyed many of their retirement years in Oliphant, ON on the shores of Lake Huron, before returning to Hamilton.
Michael is survived by Ann; their daughters: Lynn (Dave) Lane; Lori (Bill) Watt; Lisa (James) Granberg, and grand- children: Stephen, Tracy, Jennifer, Stephanie, Jacqueline, Kyle and Travis, and their families including three great-grandsons; his sister, Jean Gower; and nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the caregivers of Ridgeview for their kindness, compassion, and the wonderful care that Michael received.
Cremation has taken place. A Funeral Mass will be held at Most Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, 305 E. 37th St., Hamilton, on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada would be appreciated.
