Margaret Louise (Beer) CAREY

CAREY, Margaret Louise (nee Beer) Passed away peacefully at Niagara Gardens nursing home in St. Catharines on Tuesday, January 07, 2021 at the age of 95. Beloved wife of John (deceased 2015). Cherished mother of Douglas (Ann) of Port Robinson, Ontario. David (deceased 1980) (special mother-in-law to Karola) of Dundas, Ontario. Marilynn Webster (Phil) of Brantford, Ontario. Proud grand-mother of Ian (Terra), Heather (Richard), Aaron (Aline), Danielle (Craig), Brandon (Savannah), Connor, Kyle.

Proud great-grandmother of Abbie, Noah, Willow, Hunter and Jack. Dear sister of Ruth Carey (Bill) (deceased) of Dundas, Ontario. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Margaret lived out her deep Christian faith through her varied careers including switchboard operator with Bell Canada, Occupational Therapist Assistant with Hamilton Henderson Hospital, as well as running a bed-and-breakfast at “Glenwood 1827” in Dundas, for many years with John while being active in St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Hamilton before moving to Niagara where she and John worshipped at the Kirk on the Hill Presbyterian Church in Fonthill.

Her love for family also included many years of involvement in choirs along with Scottish Country Dancing. Margaret also had a gift for creativity including quilting, sewing, baking, gardening and teaching floral arranging at the RBG in Hamilton, Ontario. No plans have been made as yet for a Memorial service for Margaret due to COVID restrictions. Details will follow for that. Cremation has taken place with a private family interment to follow at White Chapel Gardens in Hamilton.
