Marilyn Lorene (Hildreth) THOMPSON

August 5, 1941 – December 15, 2020 Marilyn passed away peacefully with her devoted husband Raymond of 60 years by her side. She fought Alzheimer’s with incredible courage and grace for over a decade. She was the loving mother of Michelle (Denis) DesRochers, Wendell (Kathy) Thompson, Jo-Anne (Bob) Van Belleghem, and Jason (Diana) Thompson. Proud grandmother of Rachel, Brandon, Melanie (Will), Karen, Taylor, Raymond, Nicole, and Ashley.

She is pre-deceased by her parents, Cecil and Lorene Hildreth, and sister Doreen Jewett (Peter) and brother-in-law Lloyd (Ginny). She leaves behind her brother, Clarence (Judy) Hildreth, sister June (Larry) Hood, brothers-in-law Don (Lorene, pre-deceased), Jack and Betty (Ann, pre-deceased), Murray (Dawn), sister-in-law Verna McDonough (Ivan, pre-deceased) and faithful best friend, Marilyn Sharpe. Marilyn had a passion for music and played the piano for many years at Orkney Church of the Nazarene.

She retired from Lafarge Quarry in Dundas where she worked for over 25 years. Marilyn’s faith was strong and she was known for her compassion and love of people. Marilyn’s family would like to sincerely thank the incredible staff at The Meadows LTC in Ancaster, who lovingly cared for her over the past 6 years.

Due to current COVID-19 regulations, a private family funeral will take place on Saturday.
