McKAY, Russell ElmerĀ March 5, 1928 – March 24, 2019 After enjoying good health and vitality for over 90 years, Russell Elmer McKay passed away at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, Burlington, surrounded by his loving family.

Russell will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 72 years, Edna (nee Tamplin), his children Joy and Chester Faulknor, John and Connie McKay, Stephen and Joann McKay. Russell was the proud and loving grandfather of Jennifer McKay (Rob), Jessica and Steve MacLeod, Alison Faulknor and Darryl Bink, Matthew Faulknor and Kristy Blackwell, Jeremy and Julia McKay, Katelyn, Emily (Anthony) and great-grandfather of Aaron, Eva, Penny, Russell, Madeline, Eloise, Caiden and Miranda. Russell will be deeply missed by his surviving siblings Clarence and Fran McKay, Jim (late Marlene) McKay, Charles and Chris McKay, Myrtle (late Doug) Armstrong, Mildred (late Danny) Crumb, as well as Edna’s sister and brother-in-law Helen and Wendell Mowbray. Predeceased by his parents Russell and Amanda McKay, in-laws Arthur and Grace Tamplin, siblings Cortland (Shirley) McKay, Janet Souter and infant Clara.

Family will receive friends at the BALLARD MINOR FUNERAL HOMEĀ , 315 Broad Street East, Dunnville on Thursday, March 28th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, March 29th at 11 a.m. Interment at South Cayuga Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to South Cayuga Baptist Church, No. 6 RCAF Museum or charity of one’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
