NANBA, Toyoko

NANBA, Toyoko October 8, 1930 – March 19, 2019 It is with heavy hearts that the family of Toyoko Nanba announce her passing.

Toyo died peacefully at Idlewyld Manor following three years of wonderful care. Toyo was born in Woodfibre, BC. Her family moved to Prudhomme’s Landing (Vineland, Ontario) then to Hamilton. She had spent her years working for the Canadian International Paper Company (CIP) in Burlington until her retirement. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Along with her mother, Toyo maintained a colourful floral garden much admired in the neighborhood. She also enjoyed reading mystery novels and traveling.

With a strong sense of family, she is survived by older brother Kenji (Connie), younger brothers Kinji and Tosh. She will also be sadly missed by her two nieces Debbie and Janice. She was predeceased by parents Takeo and Fusako.

Visitation at Bay Gardens Funeral Home “William J. Markey Chapel”, 947 Rymal Road East, HAMILTON (905.574.0405) on Monday, March 25, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Burial at Eastlawn Cemetery, Hamilton at 1:15 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Hamilton Japanese United Church, or the Alzheimer Society of Hamilton would be greatly appreciated.
