MORTIMER, Nancy (Agnes Jane) August 18, 1921 – August 10, 2018 Just a few days from her 97th birthday, Nancy succumbed to heart failure in the Etobicoke General Hospital. She was surrounded by her loving family.7
Born in Montreal to parents Alfred Rout and Janet McWhirter, Nancy was predeceased by her siblings: Robert Rout, Alice Laing and Catherine Treger and is survived by Gwendolyn Carruthers. Married to Rodney Mortimer in 1948, they had three daughters – Patricia Khan (Israel; resident of Trinidad) Margaret Thomson (Bill) and Catherine Adams (recently deceased). They resided in Montreal until 1967 when Rod was transferred to Toronto. Nancy was a proud grandmother of seven grandchildren: James, Corine, Jessica, Daniel, Lindsay, Joshua and Bryan. She was the great-grandmother of four: Alexandrea, Julia, Xavier and Ian. Arrangements have been made at Glen Oaks Funeral Home and Cemetery (3164 Ninth Line, Oakville) for Saturday, August 18th. Public visitation (9:00 – 10:00 a.m.); Funeral Service (10:00 – 11:00 a.m.); Burial (11:00 – 11:30 a.m.); Reception to follow at Glen Oaks.
