NERSESIAN, Eleni October 12, 1928 – Friday, April 19, 2019 It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Eleni Nersesian.
Devoted wife of the late Paul (2013). Loving mother of Betty Panchyshyn (Bill) and Violet. Dear Nene to the granddaughters she adored, Corina and Felicia. Cherished sister of Knar Giapitzian and the late Sarkis and sister-in-law of the late Rose and Dan Dobrasyan, the late Ankine and Bob Malkom, Anne and the late John Cecil. Beloved “Aunt Yeran” or “Morak” to many nephews and nieces and their families.
Eleni was a member of the Armenian Relief Society for 50 years. She was an avid gardener, cook and baker. She loved the holidays and went out of her way to make them extra special. She was kind and loving and nothing meant more to her than family. We will miss her toe tapping and singing along to music and the way her face would light up when a loved one came to visit. May she rest in peace with picturesque gardens and sunny beaches in Heaven.
To those watching a loved one living with Alzheimer’s; be patient, be kind, be loving and most importantly, be there. There is no greater gift than to give back the love that was once bestowed upon you. Sometimes “it takes a village” and we would like to thank those that helped us throughout this journey. Dr. Badawi, the neighbours on Kenora Avenue, Antonietta, Amica, Ray, the entire staff and management at Seasons Stoney Creek; you went above and beyond to fill Mom’s days with joy and love and lastly to the incredible team at Chartwell Brant Centre – we are so grateful for the care and compassion you provided Mom.
Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) Stoney Creek (905-664-4222) on Monday, April 29, 2019, from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. where the Funeral Service will take place Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Eastlawn Cemetery (Barton St. and Nash Rd).
