NUTLEY, Rhys Cortlane

NUTLEY, Rhys Cortlane Passed away suddenly in the early morning hours of March 6, 2019 at the age of 31.

Born in Hamilton, Rhys was the beloved son of his mother, Caprice Nutley and his father and stepmother, Kevin and Gretchen Nutley. Rhys was the devoted partner of his love, Lesley Rock, who will miss him forever. Rhys will be deeply missed by his grandmother Peggy Nutley and brothers and sister, Joshua and wife Angele, Porscha and Colton. Rhys will be fondly remembered by his nephews, many cousins and friends.

Rhys lived the first part of his life in Utah with his mother and returned to Canada at the age of 19 where he studied and graduated from Mohawk College in 2013 with a diploma in Child and Youth Work. Throughout his career he was very loved, respected and appreciated by the many children and young adults he cared for. He continuously went above and beyond to ensure each and every child/young adult was given the opportunity to see their full potential and was able to create many lasting memories. His spirit, sense of humour and giving nature will never be forgotten and will forever be missed by all the lives that he touched.

Rhys lived life large, loved adventure and was always ready for new challenges and experiences. He loved snowboarding, hammock camping and he especially loved to hike with his English Bull Terriers, Nahla and Kingston. While Rhys’ time was short, his journey was long and he will always be remembered for his big heart, love of life and family.

Rhys is preceded in death by his grandparents Rex Lane Firth, Peggy Ann Firth, Russell Charles Nutley and his great-grand- mother Molly Brown all of whom played a big role in Rhys’ life.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at the DODSWORTH & BROWN Funeral Home, ANCASTER CHAPEL, 378 Wilson Street East, at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2019. Visitation from 12:30 p.m. until time of Service. Cremation will take place with a private interment at the Stoney Creek Cemetery.
