O’NEILL, Dolores Anna (Burr)

O’NEILL, Dolores Anna (Burr) Dolores’ last performance is over for us. She has taken her final bow. The lights went dim when the dance of her life ended. We sit in stillness and darkness in expectation of her encore (she always did one). She will certainly nail it in heaven.

Dolores was a perennial performer, training in her early years as a ballet dancer. Her hard work, grace, and elegant style touched all aspects of her life. Heart held open, head high, Dolores went out into the world with kindness, caring, strength and joy in all her endeavors. She had an ability to engage others and invite people in- she always had the perfect response, with the spontaneity of knowing “what to say.” The twinkle in her blue eyes, her smile, the way she straightened her spine, shifting to a more upright position, the breath in, the drop of the shoulders, the ease she had in channeling her goddess self.

Dolores was a wise woman with a capacity to see and love her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends for their unique selves. Knowing them celebrating them for exactly who they were. This insight and magnitude to love will certainly be one of the rare traits we will miss most about her. Finally reunited with her dear husband Jack O’Neill who left us here on earth 8 years ago. Our applause is in gratitude for she certainly by all standards was “A Class Act.” As the curtain draws to a close on her life now on this earth plane, we honour Dolores with a thundering standing ovation.

Dolores spent many years volunteering and serving meals at the Good Shepherd, she would be honoured to know you remembered her gift of service with an offering to this same charity.

Also, thank you to the staff at Willow Grove/Scenic Woods, our gratitude for the loving care you gave to our mom.

Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. St Ann’s Parish in Ancaster on March 12th.
