PELLEGRINI, Berardino (Dino) Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at St. Peter’s Hospital on Sunday, October 21, 2018, in his 93rd year.
Beloved husband of Petronilla (Gizzi) for 61 years, loving father to Domenic (Linda Michtics) and Ezio (Marisa Ciallella-Pellegrini), and cherished Nonno to Christina and Danielle Pellegrini. Predeceased by his loving parents Domenico (Sabatino) Pellegrini and Concetta Giampietri, and his dear sister Luisa (Antonio) Marinelli. Survived by many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews in Italy, Australia and Canada.
Berardino was born in the small town of Caporciano, Italy on April 17, 1926. He and his young family immigrated first to Sydney, Australia then returned to Italy, before finally settling in Hamilton in 1966. He was a man of great faith and practiced moderation in everything he did. He found joy in gardening, reading and music.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Peter’s Hospital for the exceptional care extended to Berardino. Visitation will be at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME , 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Friday, October 26th, 2018, from 4-9 p.m. Prayers at 5 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke’s Roman Catholic Church, 200 Mount Albion Road on Saturday, October 27th at 10 a.m. Entombment to follow at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Berardino may be made to St. Peter’s Hospital 3rd Floor, West Wing.
