SCHIAVO, Mary (Pacenza) It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Schiavo on October 14, 2018. Surrounded by her family and friends on her 67th birthday, she leaves behind a legacy of courage, bravery and dedication to everyone who knew her. She leaves her devoted husband of 40 years, Gaetano and their sons Michael, Justin (Grace) and daughter Alicia (Paul), and her two grandchildren Marcus and Jordan and her dog Charlie. Survived by her mother Antoinette Pacenza and welcoming her to heaven is her loving father Basil Pacenza and in-laws Assunta and Reiziro Schiavo. Cherished sister to Carla (Danny) Potts and Loriann (Paul) Ferguson, and brothers-in-law Tony (Antoinette), Pat (Cheryl) Schiavo, and sister-in-law Teresa (Frank) Mastrovito. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews and extended family around the world.
Mary was a dedicated educator for 33 years with the Hamilton Wentworth Catholic District School Board. Her greatest passion was for her family and students. Her loving smile and laugh was contagious. We will forever miss and cherish her.
Visitation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 454 Highway #8 (east of Millen Road) STONEY CREEK (905-664-4222) on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 from 4 – 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church, 304 Highway 8, Stoney Creek on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 10 a.m. Cremation will follow at a later date.
