SCIOLLINTANO, Calogero (Charlie)

SCIOLLINTANO, Calogero (Charlie) It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce, on Monday, April 8th, 2019, the passing of our family patriarch, Charlie Sciollintano.

Beloved husband, of 65 years, to Gerlanda (nee Macaluso). Loving father of Ed and Anna Sciollintano and Angela and Patrick Walton. Nonno, is going to be deeply missed by his grandchildren Adrienne Pileggi, Merissa Davis, Charlie Sciollintano and Vita Sciollintano (Tyler Swick). Proud Bis-Nonno to Julian and Nicholas Pileggi. He is survived by his sister Carmela (Stefano) Esposto, his brothers-in-law Peter Miceli and Joe (Janet) Macaluso, and sisters-in-law Carmela Borrillo and Elvira Lora. Predeceased by parents Eduardo and Angela Sciollintano and in-laws Carolina and Elia Macaluso. Also predeceased by his sisters, Giuseppina Cino, Vincenza Munisteri and Elena Miceli, and brothers-in-law Giuseppe Cino, Leo Munisteri, Peter Borrillo, and Angelo Amoia, and sisters-in-law Angela Amoia and Elena Macaluso. Uncle Charlie will be greatly missed by several nieces and nephews in Canada and Belgium.

Charlie was a world bocce champion, and lifelong member of the Fratellanza Racalmuto Club. His love for gardening, and wine-making, was only second to his love for his family and One O’clock Sunday lunch.

We would like to thank the staff at Hamilton General Hospital, 8th floor West, for treating Charlie and the entire family with such dignity and respect during this difficult time, especially Nurses Jenna and Eva.

Visitation will be held at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton St. E., on Thursday April 11, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Vigil prayers on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be offered at All Souls Church on Friday, April 12, 2019 at 10 a.m. Entombment to follow at Bayview Mausoleum.

In kindness, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association would be appreciated by the family.
