SHIRLEY AILEEN WILLIAMS

WILLIAMS, SHIRLEY AILEEN (nee PATTON) March 24, 1930 – October 14, 2018 Born in Port Hood – moved as a child to Big Glace Bay, Cape Breton, NS. In 1952 she moved and settled in Toronto, ON.

After a short illness, Aileen passed suddenly at Sunnybrook Hospital – Toronto. She was surrounded by family who gave her comfort in her last hours. Beloved mother to Trudy, Marilyn, George and the late Shirley MacLeod (August 17, 2018). Loving grandmother to Kim, Darren, Ashley and Kaitlin and great-grandmother to Brett, Carter, McKayla, Hailey and Willow. Aileen will be dearly missed by her many relatives including her sisters Louise, Ellen, Gertrude, Beulah and Roberta, many nieces, nephews and friends. Aileen was predeceased by her husband Percy, most cherished daughter Shirley and her siblings Seward, Evelyn, Edith, Josephine, Violet and John.

Aileen was a go getter all her life – nothing could hold her back from success. She owned her own Real Estate Company, was an amazing artist and among one of her many interests was the Decoupers Guild. She was a serious advocate of Education – all her life she took a variety of courses. All that were blessed to know her will always remember her infectious smile and laugh. She was known for her strength, intelligence, generosity, compassion and love. Mom, you have left a void in all our lives.

Visitation to be held at York Cemetery & Funeral Centre, 160 Beecroft Rd., North York on Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.; Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m. Reception to follow at York Funeral Centre. Interment will take place in Donkin, NS.
