SLAT, Vlado Michael Of Stoney Creek, passed away peacefully in his home, with his family at his side on Monday, October 22, 2018 at the age of 59.
Loving husband of Jasminka (nee Bilopavlovic), devoted father of Suzana Bilopavlovic, Anna (Robert), Jelena and Kristina Slat. Proud grandfather of Emilija Fazackerley-Slat. Dear son of Drago and Jelena Slat and brother of Danijel (Valerie) Slat and Barbara Jaworowski, predeceased by his brother Victor Slat. Uncle of Shaun (Laura) and Cheryl, Peter and Paul (Meghan). Vlado also leaves behind many family members in Croatia.
He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, humor and devotion to his family.
The family would like to thank the LHIN and VON nursing staff, as well as the doctors, nurses and other staff of the Juravinski Cancer Center in Hamilton for their care and compassion.
The Slat family will receive visitors at the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME , 135 Clarence Street, Port Colborne, on Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Thursday at 3:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday October 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Bosco Roman Catholic Church with Father Peter Walton as celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow at Mount St. Joseph Cemetery.
