MIKOLIEW, Stanley Passed away quietly in his 93rd year, on Monday, October 29, 2018 at Headwaters Health Care Centre in Orangeville after a short unexpected illness.
Born in Beausejour, Manitoba, he was a man of kind words, gentle spirit and delightful wit; he served his family, relatives and friends with grace and humility. Stanley’s joy was his family, especially his two adorable grandchildren Dylan and Tessa Warren.
He enjoyed the outdoors and was active throughout his life with many sports, notably skiing, windsurfing and hiking. After a short stint in the army during the Second World War, he graduated from civil engineering at the University of Manitoba and had a lifelong career with Ontario Hydro with placements throughout the province.
Stan is survived and deeply loved by his wife, Lily (nee Tomashewsky), son Kenneth (Caroline Mach), daughters, Karen (Chuck Miller) and Korine (Jim Warren) and further survived and missed by nieces and nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his three siblings, Stella Krawchuck, Natalie DeMoura and Gordon Mikoliew.
Private family services will be held.
