ATKINS, SUSAN ELIZABETH After a courageous battle, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and nana.
Susan passed away peacefully at the age of 64, on Thursday, January 3, 2019, in Haliburton. Having spent over 55 years at her cottage on Loon Lake in Haliburton, she was able to spend one final Christmas with her family at the place she loved the most.
Cherished wife of David, devoted mother to Jennifer (Joey) and Melissa (Ryan) and loving nana to Ethan, Mason and Ella. Susan will be greatly missed by her extended family and many friends. Susan lived a life full of passion, particularly in respect of her family, whom she loved fiercely. Her perseverance through life’s challenges was nothing short of miraculous, particularly in the last six years.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Haliburton Hospital, who cared for Susan in her final days with the utmost of respect and compassion during a most difficult time.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 1 p.m., at Highland Funeral Home – Markham Chapel, 10 Cachet Woods Court, Markham. Guests will be received one hour prior to the service.
