CALAFATI, TINA It is with heavy hearts that the family of Dr. Tina Calafati announces her peaceful passing on Saturday, January 27, 2018. Tina was the daughter of the late Awad Ghaly and Sania Greiss. She will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Nat and her proud daughter Jennifer and daughter-in-law Sara. She will be greatly missed by her siblings Wafa, Nancy, Wagdy and Soma; as well as her lifelong friend Niveen and many other friends and acquaintances.

Tina was born in Egypt and later moved to Toronto, where she resided for the majority of her adult life. Tina was a highly educated individual. She started her career as a teacher and guidance counsellor for many years. Following this, Tina obtained both a Masters Degree and a PhD in counselling psychology. She practiced as a psychologist for several years and touched the lives of many people in need. Tina was an energetic and vivacious lady with a youthful spirit and an unparalleled positive nature. She will be forever in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Aplastic Anemia and Myelodysplasia Association of Canada through CanadaHelps.org (BN: 875572265RR0001) or to the Canadian Cancer Society. Visitation will be held at Turner & Porter Butler Chapel, 4933 Dundas St. W. (between Kipling and Islington Aves.), Etobicoke on Tuesday and Wednesday, January 30 and 31, 2018 from 6 – 9 p.m.
