JEFFRIES, WINIFRED (WIN) M. On January 24, 2021, at Billings Court Manor in Burlington, after a courageous battle with dementia, Win passed away peacefully.
Born in Bolton, England, August 22, 1935, to parents Thomas and Honor Hindman, Win immigrated to Canada in 1953 at the age of 18 with her sister Margaret (Gerry) (both predeceased). Win is survived by her sister Honor (Doug), and brother Thomas (Eileen). Win married William (Bill) Hool (predeceased) in 1955 and had 3 children, John (Dee), Lynn (Jim), and Margaret (Eric).
In 1974, she married Frank Jeffries who had 2 children, Karen (Ken), and Brent (Anne). Win is survived by 14 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. Win worked as a bookkeeper with several firms in the Toronto area, she was an accomplished golfer, playing at their Florida homes, and served as Club Ladies President at Markland Wood and Nottawasaga Golf Clubs. Win also loved to travel having visited Australia, Asia, South America, and many countries in Europe.
Flowers may be accepted at Smith’s Funeral Home, 1167 Guelph Line, Burlington, with a small private service Saturday, January 30th. A celebration of life will be held in the summer when we are able to gather again. www.smithsfh.com
