CUMMINS, Adele Marie (O’Kruk) (Crich) Adele Marie Cummins (January 14, 1933 – August 20, 2017) in London, Ontario. Loving mother of Kathy (Rob), Bill (Alison), Jim (Sue), Karen (Alan) and Rosalie (Gregory), and proud grandmother of Matthew (Mira) and Jennifer (Morgan); Aaron and Liam; Rob, Amy, Julie and Tom; Peter (Wendy), Andrew and Angeline; Graham, Lucas and Hannah; and great-grandmother of Penny. She also leaves her beloved brother David, and numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Kathryn A. (Millan) Cummins (1990) and Dr. James A. Cummins (1947) of Belleville and Hamilton, and her brother Ron (2006) of London. She was previously married to William (Bill) O”Kruk (1989) and Joseph Crich. Adele was born in Kingston and graduated from Notre Dame Academy in Hamilton in 1951. She completed her training as a nurse at St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Hamilton in 1955 and maintained contact with many members of her graduating class over the years, faithfully attending reunions. She worked as a nurse in several capacities and finished her career working with veterans at London Parkwood Hospital in 1993. In her retirement years she lived in Belleville and later returned to London. During her life she volunteered for several organizations (Scouts of Canada, Birthright, and immigrant settlement), and in later years with the Parish Prayer Network and the Legion of Mary at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Belleville. Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street, London on Wednesday, August 23 from 2-4 and 7-9 o’clock. Funeral Mass will be held at St. George Parish, 1164 Commissioners Road West on Thursday morning at 10 o’clock. She will be interred at St. James Roman Catholic Cemetery in Belleville at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada. The family wishes to thank the dedicated staff of the Dearness Home and the McCormick Home in London, who cared for her in her last years.
