BOWLER, Alan Edward Surrounded with the love and gratitude of his family, Alan passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 19, 2017 in his 71st year. He will be forever in the hearts of his wife and soulmate, Janet (nee Macdonald) of 44 years, sons Matthew (Tara), and Andrew (Sarah) and his four beloved granddaughters Sophia, Sasha, Hazel and Norah. He will be missed dearly by his sister, Virginia McTear, brother, Mark (Lisa) and families. Waiting for him among the Angels is his grand- daughter Sage Violet. Alan’s work as a Landscape Architect, A.E. Bowler Associates, is visible throughout many garden and green spaces, both residential and commercial, throughout the greater Hamilton area. Alan was a passionate scuba diver and instructor at Steel City Scuba. Alan and Janet were avid travelers and together explored the furthest corners of the world, both above and below oceans. Alan loved to spend time with family and friends at the cottage on Lake of Bays. We wish to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Kylie Lepic, Hematology staff, Bone Marrow Transplant Team, and C-ICU staff at Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre, for the superb care Alan received during the last three years. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the DODSWORTH & BROWN Funeral Home ANCASTER CHAPEL, 378 Wilson St. E., Ancaster, ON, on Friday, August 25, 2017 from 2-5 p.m. A Celebration of Alan’s Life will be held at MARSHALL MEMORIAL UNITED CHURCH, 20 Gilbert St. (at Fiddler’s Green Rd.), Ancaster, ON, on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. If desired, donations in Memory can be made to the Stem Cell Transplant Campaign at the Juravinski Hospital or Marshall Memorial United Church.
