JORDAN, Amy Aged 93, died peacefully on June 16, 2017, after six months of deteriorating health. Amy was born on January 2, 1924 in Liverpool, England, to George and Lily Morris. Amy’s passing was preceded by her parents and her five siblings in England (especially her beloved brother, Bill, in WWII). She met her husband Percy Jordan in 1944 when he was stationed in England with the RCAF. They married and Percy brought his “war bride” back to Canada, where they built a home in Etobicoke, while their VLA lot was still farmland. Sixty-two years later, they moved to a condominium and then more recently to Heritage House in Mississauga. Amy enjoyed camping trips throughout Canada and the USA with her family and then later on, Amy and Percy’s sense of adventure took them on many international trips and cruises. Amy loved to cook, sew, knit and tend to their huge vegetable garden. Amy was an active volunteer. The Jordans were very active members of St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, Islington, since it was established in 1948. She also was a highly regarded volunteer at Etobicoke General Hospital for 52 years. Amy is survived by her son, Graham and his wife Sharon of Owen Sound, Glenys and her husband Michael of Seattle WA, eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Sadly, her third child, David, only survived two days after his birth. Visitation is at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 24th, at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church (3962 Bloor St. W., Etobicoke), with a Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to Sleeping Children Around the World. www.scaw.org/donations
