Andrew James WATSON
WATSON, Andrew James 6 June 1964 – 11 February 2017 It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Andrew. He leaves behind his beloved wife Judy-Anne, loving daughter Marissa and her husband Italo. Very special Granddad to his precious Olivia and Adriana. He also leaves his cherished parents James and Patricia, and dear sister Jennifer and husband Bert Slater (Julianna), all of BC. He was predeceased by his sisters Julie (Heather, Shaun and James Greig; Robert Middlemiss) and Paula in 2007. Andrew was born in Hamilton. He studied economics at McMaster and began his career with Keystone Valve in Burlington. After their closing, he was Maintenance Manager at Zenon Environmental, where one of his notable achievements was setting up a new factory in Hungary. When his father was unable to continue his business crafting custom spinning wheels, Andrew took over. He built a large international clientele with a two-year waiting list for the coveted Watson Wheels. His lifetime passion was motorcycles. Mentored by his Dad, Andrew was riding at age eight, progressing to become a champion rider and recipient of the High Point Award. He taught Canada Safety Council motorcycle training in the Sheridan College Program as a Senior and Chief Instructor. Thousands of students benefited from his unique and patient approach. He was passionate about teaching young riders, beginning with his own daughter Marissa, and volunteered many hours with Steel City Riders. Andrew was an avid researcher with countless interests. Everyone who touched his life benefited from his knowledge, as he generously counseled on subjects both practical and unique. His friends are many, but his family was always his priority and his pride. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place at Waterdown Legion on Friday, March 3rd from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with Tributes at 7 p.m.
