ALMONTE, Angela (nee Rizzo) Peacefully, after a brief illness, surrounded by her family, at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the age of 67. Beloved wife of Nicandro for 47 years. Loving mother of Sandro. Dear sister of the late Santina (Pietro) Cino, Gianna (Salvatore) Fantauzzo, Giuseppina (Angelo) Fantauzzo, Calogera (the late Franco) D’Ambrosio, Alfredo Rizzo and Aldo (Joy) Rizzo. Sister-in-law of Giovanna (the late Benigno) Ginnetti, Elda (Gianni) Martino and the late Giulio Almonte. Predeceased by her parents Luigi and Carmela Rizzo. She will be sadly missed by nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Angela’s lifelong passion was music and she enjoyed her singing career with the band the Blue Stars for over twenty years. Special thanks to the staff of St. Joseph’s ICU for their compassionate care. Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME , 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Tuesday from 5-9 p.m. with Vigil Prayers at 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 165 Prospect Street North, on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Entombment Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery.
