ANNA COMISSO

Anna Comisso passed away peacefully in her sleep the morning of January 10, 2017 in her 94th year after spending her final days surrounded by her loving family. Devoted wife of the late Gino Comisso and cherished mother of George and his wife Sheila, and Sandra and her husband Jorge. Her legacy of love, ferocity and kindness live on in her grandchildren Alessandra, Amber, Tara and Andrew and will always be a part of the love they share with their partners Adrian, Matthew, Dave and Ola. Her memories will be passed on and cherished by her great-grandchildren Anna, Allan, Tessa, Mia, Jack and Max who will know that she came from the humblest of beginnings and sacrificed with her husband Gino to make a better future for her family. Her stories and memories continue to live on with her family in Australia, France, Germany, Italy and the United States. She was a war hero to a Jewish family, helping hide them in her home during World War II, but never thought she was doing more than the right thing. She worked two jobs to make sure her children had everything they needed to succeed in life, to have all of the opportunities she didn’t have. They made her proud, and continued to give her great pride and joy with a growing family who can all thank her for the opportunities they will continue to enjoy. She was incredibly simple in her wishes, she wanted to be with her family and make sure they were happy, loved and well cared for. She passed away knowing that her life’s wishes were realized and that her love spoken through both her actions and words will continue through her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Friends and relatives will be received at DELMORO FUNERAL HOME, 61 Beverly Hills Dr. (1 light south of Wilson Ave., west of Jane St., 416-249-4499) on Friday, January 13, 2017 from 4-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at ST.
