ANNA BASSO (nee SARTOR) Anna was a small but mighty woman who left this world peacefully at Humber River Hospital on May 12, 2017 at the age of 92 to reunite with her husband Olivo in heaven. A stylish dresser and incredible cook, Anna came to Canada from Italy with her family in 1953. Her amazing lasagna, gnocchi and crostoli always hit the spot! She always had a lush vegetable garden, a great memory and LOVED chit-chatting with everyone! Her kind spirit lives on through her son Mario (Deborah) and grandchildren Denise, Chris and Dianna (Kenny). Loving great- grandmother of Ella and Caleb. Fondly remembered by her siblings Emma and Luigi, as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and family too numerous to list, but not forgotten. She was predeceased by her children Angela and Gisella and her siblings Ugo, Rosina and Pierina. Family and Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road (North of Lawrence Avenue), on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 811 Lawrence Avenue West, on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Interment Mount Hope Cemetery.
