ANNE LUBINSKY Anne Lubinsky (nee Tretiak) of Oakville, devoted mother, gifted teacher, and founding member of St. Joseph’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, fell asleep in the Lord and passed into eternity on Lazarus Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the age of 94. She was predeceased by her husband Walter Lubinsky, on June 5, 1966. Mother of Andrew Lubinsky (Denise) of Oakville, Mary-Anne Zubrycky (Walter) of Ottawa, Luba Lubinsky (Uli Mast) of Edmonton, and Catherine Lubinsky (David MacIntyre) of Vancouver. Grandmother of Anna, Christina, Anastasia, Sophia, Michael, Joseph, Thomas, Alexander, Nicholas and great-grandmother of Rosalie. Anne leaves her brother William Tretiak (Albina) of Montreal and her sister Irene Malowany of Saskatoon and her many nieces and nephews in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec and Connecticut. She will be missed by her caregivers at The Redwoods Retirement Residence of Ottawa, as well as her friends from St. Joseph’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in Oakville, pupils and colleagues from St. James Catholic School in Oakville and the Halton Catholic District School Board, where she taught for over 20 years. Visitation at Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Rd. West, in Oakville, on Wednesday, April 12 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. with Panachyda (Byzantine pre-burial Vigil-Prayers) at 7:30 p.m. Liturgy (Funeral Rite of Christian Burial and Mass) 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 13 at St. Joseph’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 300 River Oaks Blvd. East, in Oakville, off Trafalgar Rd., just north of the QEW. Burial at St. Jude’s Cemetery, 250 Lakeshore Rd. West. Donations in lieu of flowers to St. Joseph’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, or The Walter and Anne Lubinsky Educational Fund – Care of St. Joseph’s Ukrainian Catholic Church.
