AUGUSTO MARTINHO da CUNHA VIEIRA It is with deep sadness that the Newell-Vieira family announces the passing of Augusto Vieira. He died Sunday, February, 5, 2017 at the age of 64. Augusto touched the lives of so many people. He will be remembered as a caring, generous person who was always there for support in times of need. He had a wonderful sense of humour and a sharp wit. He had a great presence, an infectious laugh and was a true gentleman. He leaves behind countless friends who loved him like family. His passion and knowledge of art was an inspiration to many. He will be greatly missed by Toronto’s art community. Augusto also worked at Barberian’s Steakhouse for more than 30 years, where he cultivated long-lasting friendships with everyone there. Augusto is survived by his wife Elizabeth Newell; his daughter Natasha Newell-Vieira Martin; his son-in-law Brad Martin; his beloved granddaughter Audrey; his siblings Joe Vieira and Gloria Germano; nephew Tiago; nieces Daniela, Siobhan and Rebecca; brothers-in-law Alfredo, Andrew and Stephen; and sisters-in-law Manuela, Charlotte, Sue and Anne. He was preceded in death by his mother Custodia da Cunha, his father Antonio Vieira, brothers Frank and Antonio Vieira, father-in-law David Newell, mother-in-law Margarita Newell, and brother- in-law Christopher Newell. Family and friends may pay their respects at the Ryan & Odette Funeral Home, 1498 Dundas St. W., Toronto, on Sunday, February 12, 2017 from 2:00 – 4:00 or 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 13, 2017 at Saint Anthony’s Church, 1041 Bloor St. W., Toronto, with a reception to follow at Via Norte Restaurant, 938 College St., Toronto.
